Great dining in Kaikoura - TripAdviser Reviews

"The Pier Hotel / restaurant was recommended as a must-do in Kaikoura. We went for dinner on our first night and liked it so much, we came back another time. Great food, very friendly staff and nice ambiance."

The bar, with its historical photographs and cosy atmosphere has been patronised for over a century by the coastal whaling and fishing fleets, giving it the authentic ambiance you would expect in a country “local”. Meals can also be enjoyed outside at one of our beach front tables. An awesome experience especially during the warmer months.

LOCAL BEERS & WINES

The Pier Hotel restaurant has an extensive wine list featuring local wines of distinction for you to enjoy with your meal. The bar is fully stocked and we are proud to support the local Emporium Brewery by stocking a range of their award winning beers. We also offer non-alcoholic beverages and make a great coffee. The bar features local fishing memorabilia and is a great place to relax and have a drink...or head outdoors to the waterfront picnic tables on the grass outside.
